what we do
Our actions aim to create tangible change in Greek society
National Report on the Implementation of the 1st National Action Plan on Racism & Discrimination in Greece
We conduct extensive research to evaluate the impact of Greece’s 1st National Action Plan on Racism and Discrimination. This includes:
● Surveys with over 1,000 participants from various backgrounds.
● Interviews with at least 10 key stakeholders
● Consultation workshops with key stakeholders, including the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the National Council against Racism and Intolerance
● A detailed report highlighting gaps, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Drafting of the 2nd National Action Plan on Racism & Intolerance in Greece
Taking into consideration the National Report on the current conditions, the meetings from the consultation workshops with key stakeholders, the technical preparation through the expertise provided and the input by the Ministries / Institutions, the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs will draft the zero draft of the 2nd National Action Plan against Racism and Intolerance.
Providing expertise through capacity building and skills strengthening
Members of the National Council against Racism and Intolerance, civil servants and first line professionals will benefit from extended capacity building activities on recognising bias incidents and supporting hate crime victims in accordance with national and EU law.
Platform to address under-reporting and promote access to services for victims
Victims, survivors, or individuals at risk—especially those from marginalized or oppressed groups who are often targeted due to their (visible or perceived) characteristics (e.g., LGBTQI+, migrants, etc.)—will be able to access a platform designed to provide essential information.
The platform will include:
a) details about available services, and
b) information about their rights.
It will be available online in 10 languages: Greek, English, French, Arabic, Farsi/Dari, Pashto, Urdu, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Albanian, ensuring accessibility for a wide audience.
The Ecosystem will hand over the platform to a member of the National Council against Racism and Intolerance after the project’s implementation to ensure continued access to services for victims and to address under-reporting.
National Awareness Campaign
The campaign aims to raise awareness among the general public and stakeholders about the importance of equality. It will specifically address various target groups and communities that experience discrimination and racism, ensuring their inclusion in the campaign’s messaging.
